Top 25 Cannabis Blogs to Read (and Pitch) in 2026

Most “top cannabis blogs” lists have a dirty secret: they recommend dead sites. We checked 30 blogs from popular roundups against live Ahrefs data before writing this, and five of them showed zero or near-zero traffic. They’re gone, dormant, or redirected. We cut them.
What’s left is a verified list of 25 cannabis blogs that are alive, publishing, and pulling real readers in 2026. For each one you get two things: why it’s worth reading, and how to pitch it if you want coverage for your brand.
A note on the numbers: DR (Domain Rating) is Ahrefs’ 0–100 authority score, and traffic is the sitewide monthly organic estimate from Ahrefs, pulled July 2026.

Now the details, grouped by what each blog is for.
Consumer, culture & education blogs
1. Leafly (DR 85, ~3.4M visits/mo). The biggest content site in cannabis. Strain database, product education, news, and city guides. Read it to learn what consumer content looks like when it’s done at scale. Pitch angle: their news desk covers brands with real stories — product firsts, funding, data. Getting a brand mention here is hard and worth it.
2. Weedmaps (DR 82, ~2.3M visits/mo). Part marketplace, part learning hub. Their editorial arm publishes strong explainers and industry features. Pitch angle: expert commentary for their learn section, and make sure your dispensary or brand listing is complete — it ranks on its own.
3. Herb (DR 70, ~16K visits/mo). Product-forward culture content with heavy social reach. Pitch angle: product roundups. Herb runs “best of” lists constantly, which makes it a natural listicle placement target for CBD and THC brands.
4. MERRY JANE (DR 64, ~6.2K visits/mo). Snoop Dogg’s media brand. Culture, entertainment, and product coverage with a lifestyle voice. Pitch angle: brand stories with a culture hook — collabs, artists, events.
5. Honeysuckle (DR 60, ~6.6K visits/mo). Print-plus-digital magazine covering cannabis alongside culture and social justice. Pitch angle: founder profiles, especially from underrepresented owners. They publish real journalism, so bring a real story.
6. Beard Bros Pharms (DR 46, ~5.9K visits/mo). Legacy-operator perspective, industry commentary with a spine. Pitch angle: op-eds and industry takes. If your founder has strong opinions and receipts, this is the room.
7. The Bluntness (DR 44, ~1.4K visits/mo). Sharp consumer education and culture writing. Pitch angle: expert quotes and educational collabs. Smaller audience, easier yes, clean editorial link.
News & Policy Blogs
8. Marijuana Moment (DR 75, ~50K visits/mo). The wire service of cannabis policy. If a governor signs something, it’s here first. Read it daily if regulation touches your business. Pitch angle: hard news only — data, lawsuits, policy positions. No product pitches.

9. NORML (DR 78, ~47K visits/mo). The advocacy group’s blog tracks legalization and reform state by state. Pitch angle: limited, but state chapters welcome local business involvement, and sponsorships earn mentions.
10. High Times (DR 78, ~23K visits/mo). The legacy name in cannabis media, still publishing news, culture, and the Cannabis Cup. Pitch angle: products for competitions and gift guides, plus culture features.
11. Cannabis Now (DR 65, ~5.6K visits/mo). Magazine-style coverage across news, politics, and lifestyle. Pitch angle: contributed articles and expert commentary; they run outside voices more than most news sites.
12. Ganjapreneur (DR 65, ~4.3K visits/mo). Business news plus a strong interview series. Pitch angle: founder interviews. They actively feature operators and service providers — one of the most pitchable sites on this list.
Business & Trade Blogs
13. MJBizDaily (DR 77, ~95K visits/mo). The industry’s paper of record and the team behind MJBizCon. Read it for market data and licensing news. Pitch angle: executive commentary backed by numbers. Their reporters use expert sources constantly — a HARO-style win waiting to happen.
14. Cannabis Business Times (DR 74, ~63K visits/mo). Deep operational coverage: cultivation, retail, compliance. Pitch angle: contributed expertise from operators. If you can teach their readers something operational, you can get published.
15. mg Magazine (DR 59, ~14K visits/mo). B2B coverage of retail, brands, and services. Pitch angle: thought-leadership columns and product news. Receptive to service-provider bylines, which is rare.
16. Canna Law Blog (DR 70 firm-wide, ~6.2K visits/mo) — by Harris Sliwoski. Lawyers writing plain-English breakdowns of cannabis law. Required reading before you sign anything. Pitch angle: none, really — but they cite and link sources when covering industry disputes and trends, so newsworthy data can earn you a mention.
17. NisonCo Blog (DR 38, ~2.4K visits/mo). Yes, a competitor of ours. Their keyword lists and SEO guides for cannabis are genuinely useful, and pretending otherwise would make this list less honest. Pitch angle: they collaborate on industry roundups and events.
Retail & Tech Blogs
18. Dutchie Blog (DR 78, ~696K sitewide visits/mo). The ecommerce platform’s content arm publishes retail benchmarks and dispensary guides. Pitch angle: retail data collabs and customer stories if you’re in their ecosystem.
19. Flowhub Blog (DR 69, ~25K visits/mo). POS-vendor blog with strong dispensary operations content. Pitch angle: same play — operator stories and stats. Vendor blogs link out more freely than news sites.
CBD & Science Blogs
20. Project CBD (DR 75, ~13K visits/mo). The most credible cannabinoid-science publisher there is. No hype, heavy citations. Read it to keep your product claims honest. Pitch angle: research collaborations only. Don’t send product pitches.
21. CBD Oracle (DR 54, ~13K visits/mo). Product testing and industry investigations — they lab-test products and publish what they find. Pitch angle: submit products for review if your lab reports are clean. Their investigations also cite industry sources; useful data gets quoted.
Growing Blogs
22. Royal Queen Seeds (DR 70, ~157K visits/mo). Seed-bank blog that out-publishes most media companies: growing guides, strain science, cannabis 101. Pitch angle: minimal, but study their content engine — it’s the best SEO operation in the category.
23. Grow Weed Easy (DR 61, ~118K visits/mo). The definitive home-grow tutorial site. Plain language, photo-heavy, endlessly linked. Pitch angle: grow-gear brands can offer products for tutorials; everyone else should study their formatting.
24. Seedsman (DR 67, ~89K visits/mo). Long-running seed bank with a deep strain and cultivation blog. Pitch angle: same as RQS — limited pitching, strong reading.
25. I Love Growing Marijuana (DR 60, ~9.2K visits/mo). Robert Bergman’s grow-education site. Guides, troubleshooting, seeds. Pitch angle: minimal; a model for building a brand on free education.
How to Actually get Coverage from these Blogs?
Reading the list is step one. Turning it into links and mentions is a system:
1. Match the pitch to the site type.
News sites (8–12) want stories and data. Trade sites (13–15) want operational expertise. Vendor blogs (18–19) want customer stories. Culture sites (3–7) want products and personalities. One generic pitch to all 25 earns you 25 deletions.
2. Lead with data or a real story.
Every site on this list gets flooded with “collab?” emails. The pitches that land carry a number, a first, or a name. Our CBD link building guide covers the formats that work.
3. Aim for mentions, not just links.
A brand mention on MJBizDaily feeds your visibility in AI search even when it’s unlinked — earned media makes up 48% of the sources AI tools cite about brands (Omniscient Digital, 2026). Brand mentions compound over time.
4. Or have us do it.
Pitching these sites is a big part of our CBD link building service — we know which editors answer and what they said yes to last quarter.
How we built this list
We started with 30 blogs pulled from existing roundups and industry knowledge, then ran every domain through Ahrefs (July 2026) for Domain Rating, organic traffic, and keyword counts. Five failed the liveness test with zero or near-zero organic footprints, including two that still appear on other “top blogs” lists. We ranked the survivors into categories by what they’re best at. Traffic figures are sitewide Ahrefs estimates, so vendor and marketplace numbers (Leafly, Weedmaps, Dutchie) reflect whole platforms, not just their blogs.
We re-verify this list every six months and remove anything that goes dark.
FAQ
What are the best cannabis blogs for industry news?
Marijuana Moment for policy, MJBizDaily for business, and Cannabis Business Times for operations. Between those three you’ll catch nearly everything that matters. Add the Canna Law Blog if regulation affects your decisions directly.
Which cannabis blogs accept guest posts or pitches?
The most pitchable on this list: Ganjapreneur (founder interviews), mg Magazine and Cannabis Business Times (contributed expertise), Cannabis Now (outside voices), and Herb (product roundups). Always check each site’s current contributor guidelines — policies change, and a pitch that ignores the guidelines gets deleted.
Do CBD blogs still matter for SEO in 2026?
Yes, twice over. A link from a real cannabis blog is topical authority Google can read, and a mention on one feeds the earned-media pool that AI tools cite when people ask about your brand. Both effects come from the same placement.
